The Doors Are Officially Open

What an incredible way to officially open the doors to the new NASA Northwest headquarters in Kent.
A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us for Saturday’s Grand Opening. It was great to see familiar faces from the Northwest motorsports community, reconnect with drivers and instructors, and welcome so many new people who wanted to learn more about NASA and how to get involved.
Throughout the day, guests hung out at the new headquarters, met the NASA Northwest team and instructors, learn more about our HPDE, Time Trial, and wheel-to-wheel racing programs, and discover just how accessible getting onto a racetrack can be.
The sim-racing competition brought out plenty of friendly competition, while more than seven raffle giveaways gave attendees the chance to win some incredible prizes, including a free HPDE day, gift cards, memberships, an alignment, and more.
One of the most encouraging parts of the day was talking with people who were completely new to NASA. Some had never attended a track event before, while others were already looking for the next step in their driving journey. Creating those connections and helping more people find a clear path into motorsports is exactly what NASA Northwest is working to build.
Events like this don’t happen without the support of a great community. Thank you to our staff, instructors, volunteers, partners, and everyone who contributed prizes, time, and support to make the Grand Opening possible.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out, asked questions, shared stories, met the team, and helped make our first official event at the new headquarters such a success.
The doors are officially open, but this is only the beginning.
Next up, NASA Northwest heads to Portland International Raceway, August 15–16, for a full weekend of HPDE, Time Trial, and wheel-to-wheel racing.
We’re also adding a Competition School to the Portland weekend for drivers ready to take the next step toward wheel-to-w
heel racing. The school will focus on the procedures, awareness, racecraft, and on-track skills needed to begin making the transition from advanced track driving to competition.
