  • James Taylor of TARR Aero Joins NASA Northwest as TT Leader

NASA Northwest is pleased to highlight James Taylor of TARR Aero , a longtime competitor and contributor to the region’s motorsports community, as part of our growing partnership network supporting Time Trial competition. James’ involvement with NASA Northwest dates back to 2012 during the region’s original run. From 2013 through 2016, he competed in multiple classes including Spec Z, ST4, ST2, and TT2, building a broad base of experience across different platforms and rule sets. From 2016 to 2020, he continued his racing career with the EDGE Motorworks MV team.   In endurance competition, James was part of the AIM / Jackson Racing team at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill from 2013 to 2015, earning second in class all three years, a consistent result in one of the most demanding amateur endurance races in North America. Since 2021, he has competed in GTA Unlimited with his Datsun 260Z, continuing to develop both driver skill and vehicle performance at a high level. Over the years, he has driven with a variety of organizations and teams in numerous vehicles at tracks ranging from Buttonwillow Raceway Park to Ridge Motorsports Park. Today, James serves the community in several roles, as a Time Trial competitor, instructor, aerodynamic parts manufacturer through TARR Aero, and Head of NASA Northwest Time Trials. His experience across competition, technical development, and driver coaching provides valuable perspective as the region continues to rebuild and expand. “Our goal is to help drivers improve their pace and become among the fastest in the West while maintaining a safe and structured environment,” said James Taylor of TARR Aero. Through this partnership, NASA Northwest and TARR Aero aim to support continued growth in Time Trial participation by providing technical insight, driver development support, and a strong foundation for competitive but safe racing. NASA Northwest remains focused on delivering professionally run events, clear progression pathways from HPDE to Time Trial and racing, and a community built around performance, safety, and sportsmanship. Collaborations with experienced competitors and technical partners like TARR Aero play an important role in achieving that mission. • NASA Northwest Partners with Racer on Rails to Strengthen Regional Motorsports Program

NASA Northwest is pleased to announce a new partnership with Racer on Rails , bringing together two organizations united by a shared commitment to driver development, technical excellence, and growing the motorsports community throughout the Pacific Northwest. Based in Renton, Washington, Racer on Rails has built a strong reputation as a professional driver development and race program organization supporting drivers across track days, club racing, and competitive motorsports. Their work centers on structured coaching, race strategy, vehicle development, and proprietary racing systems designed to help drivers progress safely and confidently at every stage of their motorsports journey.   Through this partnership, Racer on Rails and NASA Northwest will work together to provide drivers with access to race program support and technical expertise both on and off track. Racer on Rails brings extensive in-shop capabilities including vehicle preparation, suspension setup and development, fabrication, and dynamometer-based measurement and testing, giving drivers the technical foundation required for reliable and competitive track performance. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to professionalism, preparation, and raising the overall standard of motorsports participation in the Pacific Northwest. NASA Northwest, returning under new leadership for the 2026 season, continues to focus on delivering professionally run events, high standards of safety and instruction, and a supportive environment for drivers of all experience levels. Racer on Rails’ experience in structured coaching, race program execution, and technical development complements NASA Northwest’s mission by helping drivers bridge the gap between track day participation and competitive racing. “This partnership is about creating more opportunities for drivers,” said Danielle Perry, NASA Northwest leadership. “Racer on Rails brings real-world experience in developing drivers and building race programs, and together we’re creating a stronger ecosystem where drivers can learn, progress, and ultimately compete within a structured and supportive environment.” “At Racer on Rails, we exist for one simple reason: Goals. Smiles. Memories.” said Gamaliel Aguilar-Gamez, from the Racer on Rails team . “Yes, we build cars, align suspensions, and develop race programs. But what people remember isn’t the invoice. They remember the goal they chased, the breakthrough lap, the friendships formed in the paddock. Our mission is to help drivers set bold goals, build the systems to achieve them, and create lifelong memories along the way. Partnering with NASA Northwest gives us an amazing platform to help drivers do exactly that.”   Additional collaborative events, driver programs, and technical opportunities will be announced as both organizations prepare for the upcoming season.
